The Office of Macon County Sheriff serves our community with a highly motivated, professional staff of individuals who strive to treat everyone with respect and courtesy. We work to create a safe environment for Macon County residents and visitors by preserving the peace and enforcing the laws. The men and women of the MCSO also volunteer their time and skills through community service to ensure that Macon County will be a better place to live for everyone. We are always working to do better for the people of Macon County.

A PROGRESS REPORT ON THE STATE OF THE MACON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
This progress report provides a statistical snapshot of the MCSO and the full range of activities we engage in to protect the public. For the first time, we have assembled in one place a wide range of information-presented in charts, graphs and tables-that documents the MCSO's work over the past decade.
Macon County Sheriff's Office Notices
Due to the recent COVID-19 Coronavirus the Macon County Sheriff's Office Records lobby will be closed to the general public until further notice.
Until Further notice, to add money to an inmate's commissary account, you must visit www.jailatm.com and follow the instructions on that site. Money for these transactions will not be accepted in person for the immediate future.
To bond an inmate out in person, as before, report to the Law Enforcement Center at 333 South Franklin St. in Decatur. Upon arrival, call the Macon County Sheriff's Office Command Desk at (217) 424-1319 or (217) 424-1320. An on duty officer will meet you at the first floor lobby door and direct you where to report from there. This change is made due to the first floor lobby being closed. There are signs posted outside the first floor lobby door indicating this procedure.
