Esposito.  Ms. Esposito has been with EMA since 2012 beginning her career as the office administrative assistant.  In 2017, Ms. Esposito earned accreditation as an Illinois Professional Emergency Manager.  In May of 2019 she assumed the position of Interim Coordinator.  On December 1, 2019 she accepted County Board appointment as Coordinator for the program.
Ms. Esposito's approach, to the Macon County EMA program, is as a whole-community with focus on building a culture of preparedness and resilience.

The Macon County Emergency Management Agency tests the outdoor warning siren system that can be used to alert the public to an emergency. These sirens provide coverage for nearly all of the City of Decatur, and Macon County. Through public education activities, citizens are instructed to listen to local EAS radio (WSOY 1340) and television (WAND 17) stations for information on why the sirens are sounding and for instructions on what actions to take. Outdoor warning sirens in the Decatur \ Macon County area are equipped with two warning signals: a three-to-five-minute steady "alert" tone, used for local tornado warnings and other vital emergencies, and a three-minute wavering or intermittent sound indicating an enemy attack. No all-clear signal is used in Decatur \ Macon County.
